Frankfurt am Main is a dynamic and international financial and trade fair city with Germany’s most imposing skyline. Many visitors associate this picture with the metropolis on the Main. But there are often just a few steps between cosmopolitan flair and welcoming coziness here. Get going and discover this lovely city – and don’t forget to go off the beaten track.
We offer special weekend packages
In addition to Frankfurt’s classics - Goethe, Römer and Eppelwoi - the skyscrapers, the Money Museum, the Palmengarten and the Struwwelpeter Museum invite you to come and visit them. And not to forget the banks of the Main with lots of greenery and its high-caliber museum district. On both sides of the Main, the museums are lined up like pearls, including the Städel, the German Museum of Architecture, the German Film Museum and the Jewish Museum.
Our tips for a perfect weekend in Frankfurt with or without a guide
Start your weekend by shopping on Berger Strasse or the Zeil, and then visit the Römer or the famous museum riverbank. You should also plan a visit to the Palmengarten, Frankfurt’s beautiful botanical garden with its many exotic plants and greenhouses. If you want to get to know Frankfurt away from the mainstream, we recommend a city tour with Mikael Horstmann from the city guide service. Discover Frankfurt's ‘new’ old town or take a very special literary tour with him.
Things to do in the evening
To make it a very special weekend, we recommend the following Frankfurt highlights: a visit to the Tigerpalast, Frankfurt’s international variety show with famous stars from all over the world.
A down-to-earth and very Hessian alternative is a visit to the Stalburg Theater. In the former dance hall of a 150-year-old apple wine restaurant you can find theater and cabaret, for example the “Familie Hesselbach” or “Edgar Wallace - das Gasthaus an der Themse” (The Inn on the River). Afterwards, you can enjoy the Hessian cuisine in the apple wine restaurant above.
We are happy to assist you in reserving tickets for the Tigerpalast or the Stalburg Theater.
